If, up until thirty or so years ago, Umbria was known essentially for the white wines of Orvieto and for the red wines of Torgiano, today we can say that the wines of Montefalco, above all its Sagrantino, not only have created a certain space for themselves in the region’s overall oenological panorama, but have become indeed the regional reference point.
